Great Wave off Kanagawa
This is an adaptation of one of the most famous Japanese prints by Hokusai as a body painting. The original print is part of the Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji series.
The concept of the power of nature that’s both elegant and scary is depicted beautifully in this piece.
The model’s pose in this particular picture works really well with the painting and the wave in the background. Her wavy hair also flows nicely with the wave in the painting.
For the post-production, I chose to create an old faded print look to mimic the feel of the original print. The model is flattened a bit to blend with the background.
