Marilyn Monroe

This piece was not planned and probably one of the quickest I did for the art history series.

The model and I had been wanting to do this Marilyn piece, so in between teaching a class of students painting a koi fish, we decided to do this. This painting took about 20 minutes.

The flattened image with highly saturated colors as well as the “old photo” feel are meant to mimic Warhol’s aesthetics.
