A couple inspiring works by Mickalene Thomas at the Brooklyn Museum.

Seeing Miss Thomas’ work right after I came out of the conceptual art area was like getting a drink of fresh water after being in a desert.

I really appreciate how the museum included the room settings, collages and video in addition to the finished paintings to give insight to the creative process.
